Wilton Dale Thompson

Wilton “Dale” Thompson, 74, of Denver City, Tx, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 11:00 am. at the Sundown Cemetery, in Sundown, Texas. Visitation will be held at 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the Ratliff Funeral Home chapel in Denver City, Texas. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Troy Ratliff and Ratliff Funeral Homes in Denver City, Texas.

Wilton was born to Truman and Lucille Roberts Thompson on February 27, 1950, in Brownfield, Tx. He married Brenda Lummus on April 29, 1977, in Sundown, Texas. Wilton served in the US Marine Corp for two years. He was employed with Production Fishing Tool until his employment with Yoakum Co. Precinct 1. He worked as county maintenance for Yoakum County Precinct 1 and also served fifteen years on the Denver City Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Thompson of Denver City, Texas; brother, Larry Lummus and wife, Lisa of Odessa, Texas; two nieces, Nikki and Noel; nephew, Jarrod; three great-nieces and three great-nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, a brother, J.T. Thompson, and a sister Mary Lou May.

Family has asked memorials to be made to Denver City EMS.
