Vinita Gayle Hobbs
Passed away March 13, 2025, in Seminole, Texas
She was born September 14, 1958, in Brownfield, Texas. She was the second child of Darwin B Hobbs and Lela Mae Tanner Hobbs. She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandmother Sallie Tanner, paternal grandparents Emory and Mabel Hobbs, and her beloved companion poodle Pearl.
Vinita Gayle grew up on the Hobbs family farm in the Sligo Community of Yoakum County. She attended the Brownfield Primitive Baptist Church as a child and developed a deep abiding faith in Christ. She eventually moved to Seminole in 1995. Vinita prided herself in researching and maintaining family photos and history. She loved discussing her research and reviewing photos with her cousins. Vinita Gayle is survived by her daughter Elisha Mae Friesenhahn and son Bruce Friesenhahn. Her greatest joy the last few years was finally being reunited with her son. She is also survived by her siblings Diann Peeler (Royce), Brenda Smith, Marvin Hobbs (Jonette), Mary Ann Mahler (Wayne), Darwin B Hobbs Jr (Paulette). Fourteen nieces and nephews, sixteen great nieces and nephews, two aunts and numerous Tanner, Hobbs and Freeman cousins.
Memorial service at Ratliff funeral Chapel in Brownfield at 2:00 P.M. this Friday March 21st with burial immediately afterwards at Terry County Cemetery, beside mom and dad.
