Vera Sue Courtney

Denver City…Vera Sue Courtney, 78, of Denver City, Tx, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 10:00 am., officiating will be Rev. Jesse Garcia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 5:30 pm. to 7:00 pm. in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel. Service arrangements are under the direction of Troy Ratliff and Ratliff Funeral Homes in Denver City, Texas.

Vera was born to Elmore Pryor and Lucille Clem on August 17, 1946, in Andrews, Tx. Vera graduated from Andrews High School, and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Denver City, Texas. Vera was the heart of her family and home. She devoted her life to being a mother, and her family cherished all the wonderful memories that they made together. From family dinners, camping trips to Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations. Her kind and loving heart always wanted children around, her nieces and nephews all spent a summer or two enjoying Vera’s past time. She loved the mountains and the great outdoors. She never met a stranger and was quick to make all those she met laugh. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Vera was a person you will never forget, and she loved her family and friends dearly.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Courtney; son, Travis Courtney, and wife Christina Courtney; daughter, Danielle Greenwall; sisters, Juanita Stallings and Penny McCollough; three grandchildren, Michaela Juarez, Maria Courtney, and Maya Courtney.
