Teresa Sooter

Teresa Sooter, 89, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, in Lubbock. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Texas with Rev. Tony Pitcox officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Troy Ratliff and Ratliff Funeral Homes.

Teresa was born on August 19, 1936, in Monument, NM to Pete Bilbrey and Dessie Dickison Bilbrey.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merlin Sooter; her parents; her brothers, Kenneth and Milton Bilbrey; her sister, Patsy Davis; and her son-in-law, Dale Higginbotham.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Cathey Vicknair and husband Nolan, and Doreta Higginbotham; son, Joel Sooter, and wife Becky; sisters, Eva Sooter and Bessie Denny; brothers, Bill Bilbrey, Marion Bilbrey, and Johnny Bilbrey; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and ten great great-grandchildren.
