Roy David Spradlin

Roy David Spradlin, 83, of Seminole, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and man of unwavering faith, Roy’s presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Roy David married his junior high sweetheart, Kay, on June 1, 1963. Together, they shared 64 years of marriage built on deep love and commitment.

Roy David was deeply involved in his community and had a special love for working with youth. From sports to serving as a youth leader, he was always present, guiding and supporting the next generation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Helen Spradlin, and his sisters-in-law Sue Spradlin and Mary Helen Spradlin.

Roy David is survived by his wife, Kay Spradlin; his children: David Spradlin and wife Stacey of Seminole, Texas; Wade Spradlin of Fort Worth, Texas; Drinda Spradlin of Hurst, Texas; and Karanae Duane and husband Paul Duane of Hurst, Texas. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Earnest Wayne Spradlin of Seagraves, Texas, and L.E. Spradlin of Jacksonville, Florida.

He was also a proud and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be on May 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Transformation Church in Seminole, Texas.

Roy David often said “Don’t be a quitter”—a value he lived and instilled in his family, embodying resilience, and strength throughout his life.
