Robert Elwyn (Bob) Hill

November 11, 1954 – October 24, 2026

Robert Elwyn Hill, 71, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026. He was born on November 11, 1954, in Brownfield, Tx to Hershel and Lillian Hill.

On August 24, 1974, Bob married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Denese Standefer, at the Church of Christ in Seagraves, Texas. For 52 years, they built a beautiful life together, rooted in faith, love and unwavering commitment to one another. Together they were blessed with three children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Bob spent 40 years doing what he loved most- farming. It wasn’t just his occupation; it was his passion and a way of life. His work ethic was unmatched, and he took great pride in everything he did. Even after retirement, that same dedication carried over into whatever he set his mind to, whether it was keeping his yard looking just right or tackling a project. He was also a loyal Texas Tech Red Raider fan who loved traveling all over the United States to watch his Red Raiders.

At the heart of Bob’s life were his faith in Jesus Christ and his family. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, he was active in his church and made prayer an important part of his family’s life. His faith was more than words; it was reflected in the way he lived and cared for others.

Bob’s devotion to his family was evident in everything he did. He took great pride in caring for Denese, always making sure she was loved and taken care of. As a father, he was his children’s biggest supporter, always showing up and encouraging them in whatever they pursued. His love extended beyond his own children; he welcomed their friends into his life and cared for them as well.

Being known as Bobbob was one of Bob’s greatest joys. He loved watching his grandchildren do what they loved and would travel just about anywhere to support them. He was always in the stands, cheering them on and beaming with pride. He loved aggravating his grandchildren, often getting just as much enjoyment out of their reactions as they did from his teasing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Denese Hill; their children; Vanessa Fleming and Cody of Midland, Cory Hill and Sallie of Loop and Autumn Bandy of Ropes, and his beloved grandchildren; Abby Day and Steven, Tucker Fleming, Blayze Bandy and Kasey, Tatum Fleming, Aubrey Bandy, Bryson Hill, Allye Bandy and Brynlee Hill and one great granddaughter, Addy Mae Bandy

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Lillian Hill; his brother, Jerry Hill; and his sister, Linda Hill.

Bob leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, hard work, and unconditional love for his family. His example will live on through the generations he leaves behind, and his memory will forever be cherished.

To honor Bob and his love for the Red Raiders, the family invites everyone to wear their Texas Tech red and black as they gather to celebrate his life.
