Robert Clifton Griffin, born on January 20, 1965, in Farmington, New Mexico, passed away on May 5, 2026, in Midland, Texas. He was the beloved son of James Griffin and Ena Dolores Griffin (later Dolores Maddox). Robert was preceded in death by his grandmother Ena Hobdy, his mother Dolores, his father Jim, his brother John and his niece Cassie Griffin.
Robert is survived by his brothers: Jim Echols and his wife Becky, Ron Echols and his wife Jil, Roy Echols and his wife Kim, and David Griffin and his wife Tralissa. He also leaves behind his sons, Mason Griffin and his wife Leah, Daniel Griffin, and his daughter Shelbi Griffin. His cherished grandson, Oliver Griffin, brought him immense joy. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
A proud graduate of Seminole High School, Robert attended Texas Tech University. He spent many years working at West Texas Agriplex. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was deeply involved in First Baptist Church of Seminole.
Robert’s passions were many. He loved the outdoors, building with his hands, drawing, working on cars and loved to cook and smoke meats for his family. He was an athlete and a lifelong fan of sports. Yet above all, Robert’s greatest joy was being a father. His love for his children and family was boundless, and his legacy lives on in them.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Texas, officiated by Pastor Joe Stewart under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home.
