Richard Espinoza

1962 — 2026

Denver City

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Espinoza, who entered into eternal rest on June 8, 2026, at the age of 64.

Richard was born on February 20, 1962, to Carlos Espinoza Jr. and Maria Reina Espinoza. He was preceded in death by his father, Carlos.

He is survived by his devoted wife of more than 42 years, Elma Espinoza; his son, Adam Espinoza and wife Elizabeth; his daughter, Cecilia Reyna and husband Nic; and his cherished grandchildren, Ethan Espinoza, Emma Espinoza, and Jesse Joe Reyna. He is also survived by his loving mother, Maria Reina Espinoza; his sisters, Teresa Black and husband John, and Suelema Cortez and husband Adolfo; and his brothers, Charlie Espinoza and wife Alice, and Gilbert Espinoza and wife Ginger.

On November 5, 1983, Richard married the love of his life, Elma, and together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, love, hard work, and family.

Richard was a self-employed businessman whose strong work ethic and determination shaped every aspect of his life. He believed in giving your very best, pushing yourself to improve each day, and never settling for less than your full potential. He led by example and inspired those around him to work hard, stay disciplined, and strive to be better than they were the day before.

While Richard was known for his straightforward nature and quick wit, those who knew him best also knew a man with a generous heart. He was deeply caring, endlessly supportive, and always willing to help others without expecting anything in return. His sense of humor and trademark sarcasm brought laughter to countless conversations and created memories that will be cherished forever.

Richard had many passions throughout his life. He loved spending time outdoors golfing, hunting, and fishing. He also had a deep love for raising cattle, a passion that brought him great pride and fulfillment. Caring for his cattle was more than a hobby—it was a way of life that reflected his dedication, patience, and appreciation for hard work.

Above all else, Richard understood the true meaning of family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was always present in the lives of those he loved, never needing to be asked to support, be present. encourage, or lend a helping hand. His family could always count on him, and his love was steady, unwavering, and unconditional.

One of Richard's greatest joys was being "Poppop" to his beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, and Jesse. He treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in watching them grow, change, and dream.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Richard's legacy of faith, strength, generosity, hard work, and unwavering love for his family will live on in all who knew him. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
