Richard Lee Beard

Funeral Services for Richard Lee Beard, 80, of Denver City, Texas, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Trinity Baptist Church in Denver City, under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home, Denver City, Texas, officiated by Rev. Jesse Garcia and Assisted by Skip Rodgers.

Richard passed away January 17, 2024, in Denver City, Texas.

Richard was born September 11, 1943. He graduated from Portales, New Mexico. He married Royce Jean Hughes on April 24, 1973 in Lovington, New Mexico. He began his career with United Supermarket in Vernon, Texas and Brownfield, Texas before moving to Denver City with Piggly Wiggly and then the remainder of his career with Dales Venture Foods. Retiring after 30 years as a store manager, he also served as a DCISD crossing guard for many years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Denver City, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ocie and Mary Alice Beard, his wife, Royce Jean Beard, a twin sister Joyce Marie and a brother Bob.

Richard is survived by two sons, Billy Beard and wife Gina, of Denver City, TX., James Beard and wife Tina of Okmulgee, OK.; a daughter Nancy Eastteam and husband Calvin, of Denver City, TX.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 18, 2024 from 3:00 P.M at Ratliff Funeral Home in Denver City, Texas.
