Peggy Whisenhunt, formerly of Denver City, Texas, passed away following a brief illness on December 10, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. Mrs. Whisenhunt, the oldest of six children of Weir and Oleta (Leonard) Clem, was born in Garza County, Texas on July 9, 1935. She married Raymond Whisenhunt on October 19, 1951. They were married until his passing in 2011. They had two children: Jan and Ronnie Whisenhunt. The Whisenhunt family was known for their automotive parts business in the Denver City area.
Survivors include: one daughter, Jan Whisenhunt of Lubbock; one son, Ronnie (and Lesia) Whisenhunt of Denver City; three granddaughters, Shana (and Lyle) Keeton of Wolfforth, Jennifer (and Ricky) Galvan of Andrews, and Natalie (and Mark) Mobley of College Station; one grandson, Dustin (and Helen) Whisenhunt of Seguin; six great-granddaughters, Courtney (and Bret) Richardson of Lubbock, and Kaylyn (and Luke) Adkins of Lubbock, Leslie (and Jordan) Valdez of Lubbock; Nikki Keeton of Wolfforth, Callie Boyd of Austin, Audrey Boyd of College Station,; six great-grandsons, Braden Galvan of Andrews, Kanton (and Cassidy) Galvan of Ballinger, Jacob Keeton of Lubbock, Ashton Galvan of Andrews, Cole Keeton of Wolfforth, and Bryson Galvan of Andrews; three great-great-granddaughters, Reece Richardson of Lubbock, and Kynslie and Swayzi Valdez of Lubbock; three great-great-grandsons, Grant Richardson of Lubbock, Grayson Adkins of Lubbock, and Isaiah Galvan of Ballinger; and three sisters, Dolores Pence of Amarillo, Sammie Krause of Lubbock and Ginger (and Ross) Sims of Levelland. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Don “Sonny” Clem formerly of LaJunta, Colorado and Mike Clem formerly of Luling; and one grandson, Chad Lowrey, formerly of Denver City.
