Rev. Nicolás L. Rodríguez, 76, of Seminole, Texas, passed away on April 15, 2026, at 2:02 a.m. Born on September 10, 1949, in Esperanza, Coahuila, Mexico, Nicolás Rodríguez lived a life marked by deep faith, perseverance, and purpose. From humble beginnings, he became a devoted pastor, entrepreneur, and family man who trusted God in every season and area of life.
Nicolás was known for his joyful spirit, humor, and ability to connect with others. He faithfully served in ministry for over 40 years alongside his beloved wife, Pastora Josefina Rodríguez, pastoring Templo El Calvario in Denver City, Texas, and Templo Nazaret in Seminole, Texas. Through their leadership, they poured into countless lives, guiding others with compassion and Biblical truth.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 57 years of marriage with his wife, Josefina, whom he married on December 25, 1978. He was a proud father to Ana, Viatris, Maurisia and Nancy. The great source of joy in his life were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his ministry, Nicolás was a dedicated businessman who built a successful oilfield company through hard work, integrity, and perseverance, leaving behind a legacy of provision and opportunity for future generations. Nicolás was a man of unwavering faith, often declaring, “Bendecido, en victoria, y esperando a Jesucristo” (“Blessed, in victory, and waiting for Jesus Christ”). His life reflected those words filled with hope, strength, and trust in God.
After a life of faithful service, Nicolás Rodríguez has entered into eternal rest, welcomed by the Savior he loved and served. He is preceded in death by his parents Andres Rodriguez and Maurisia Lopez Rodriguez, 1 sister Fidencia Hernandez and 2 brothers Rev. Tomas Rodriguez, and Rev. Natividad Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife, Josefina Rodríguez; his 4 daughters, Ana Rodriguez of Seminole, Viatris Rodriguez of Seminole, Nancy Gonzalez and son in law Carlos Gonzalez of Seminole, and Maurisia Cruz and son in law Tony Cruz of Seminole. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and loved ones.
Funeral services honoring the life of Rev. Nicolas L. Rodriguez will be held at Templo Nazaret Spanish Assembly of God in Seminole, Texas. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a service to follow at 5:00 PM; and Sunday, April 19, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a service at 5:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on Monday, April 20, at 2:00 PM, with interment to follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. Officiating the services will be Rev. Tony Cruz, with Rev. Jr. Martinez assisting.
