Modell S. Hunnicutt

Funeral Services for Modell S. Hunnicutt, 87, of Denver City will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in the First Baptist Church of Denver City with Rev. Kyle Streun officiating, with interment following in the Denver City Memorial Park under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City.

Modell passed away Friday, November 18, 2022 in Denver City, Texas.

Modell was born June 9, 1935 in Lordsburg, New Mexico to Jim and Sally Stockman. Modell married William Roy Hunnicutt on June 3, 1953 in Deming, New Mexico. She attended High School in Thermopolis, Wyoming and received her under graduate from the College of the Southwest, and her Masters from Texas Tech University. She was employed with the Denver City ISD and retired as a teacher who touched many souls. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Denver City.

Modell was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Hardy; a grandson Brandon Hunnicutt.

Modell is survived by her husband William Hunnicutt of the home; two sons Mitchel Hunnicutt and his wife Pam of Midland; Jimmy Hunnicutt of Denver City; a daughter Mitzi Welch and her husband Randy of Denver City; one sister Sherrie Pettyjohn of Denver City; along with six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two grand-great grandchildren.

Family visitation will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel.
