Seminole, Texas…Services for M.T.” Mac” McIlwain, 94, of Seminole will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Wesleyan Grace Church at 304 SW Ave B Seminole, Texas 79360. Officiating will be Reverend Charlie Johnson. Burial will be in Gaines County South Cemetery under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home.

He died, Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in Memorial Health Care Center of Seminole.

He was born to the late Arlin and Alma Spraberry McIlwain on September 8, 1928, in Anson, Texas and attended schools there also. He married Lou Riley on December 23, 1954, in Anson, Texas, they celebrated 68-yrs of marriage before she preceded him in death June 27, 2022. He was member of South Seminole Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a longtime farmer and rancher in Gaines County. He loved to go to cattle sales with his son. His other passion was solving jigsaw puzzles, he put together one a day.

Survivors include a son, Danny and his wife Sherry of Seminole, two daughters Gena Lou Rogers of Seminole and Lesa and Husband Timmy Hancock of Lubbock; a brother Billy McIlwain of Hamlin; seven grandchildren Megan Thompson and husband Coby, Danlee Rich and husband Colden, Ren Ellis and wife Alexa, Haley Lambert and husband Stephen, Sadie Blundell and husband Kelsey, and Katie Loera and husband Bryan; and twelve great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 – 5 pm at Ratliff Funeral Home.
