Funeral Services for Matias Garcia Jr. will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 at Primera Baptist Church at 10am with Rev. Timotello Miranda officiating with interment following in the Terry County Cemetery in Brownfield, Texas under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Brownfield.

On Sunday, September 17, 2023, Matias Garcia Jr. passed away surrounded by his family in Lubbock.

He entered the gates of Heaven and was welcomed with open arms by his Mama. Matias Garcia Jr. was born on December 14, 1977 in Brownfield, Texas to Matias Garcia Sr. and Esmeralda Garcia Matias is survived by his father, Matias Garcia Sr. of Brownfield, three daughters, Alycia Rodriguez and husband Juan of Lubbock, Alyssa Garza and husband Corbin of Lubbock, and Miranda Garcia of Midland. Two sons, Brendyn Rodriguez of Lubbock and Vincent Garcia of Seagraves. Four grandchildren, Azaiah, Ayden, Ryder and Ysabelle.

Four siblings, Amanda Martinez and husband Louie of Brownfield, Melinda Garcia of Brownfield, Eddy Garza of Brownfield, Fidencio Garcia of Brownfield and his best friend, Fernando Cruz.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Esmeralda Garcia and son, Matias Garcia III

Bebe, is what his mother called him but we all knew him as Baby. He was loved and treasured as a Son, Brother, a Father, Grandson, a nephew, an Uncle, cousin and friend.

Matias will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it. He was a straightforward man who demanded little of those around him. He loved family gatherings. We all know he was a devout Dallas Cowboy fan and Texas Tech Red Raider fan.

He will live on in all of us through our memories, stories and how he affected our lives. At the end of the day, the VICTORY was truly his. He fought hard, but we are certain that one day we will see him again.
