Mary Lynn Chester

August 23, 1936 — February 8, 2025

Mary Lynn Chester, 88, of Seminole, TX passed away on February 8th, 2025. Mary Lynn Chester was born in Snyder, TX to Lucile King Morris and Cline Morris. She graduated from Seminole High School in 1953, then went on to attend the University of Texas, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. She married the love of her life, Leon Chester, on August 23rd, 1959, in Seminole, TX. They were inseparable, and remained married for 58 years, until his death in 2017. Mary was part owner of CNL Real Estate, along with her husband, for many decades until her retirement in 2008. Aside from working, Mary loved her family, friends, and especially her great-grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Presbyterian church for most of her life. She enjoyed church and loved God. Remaining to cherish Mary’s memory are her daughter, Brenda Jones and husband Jeffrey Jones of Seminole; a granddaughter, Kyndal Stratton and husband Caleb Stratton of Seminole, TX; great-grandchildren, Brody Bingham Stratton and Zaelynn Stratton of Seminole, TX; great-nieces, Donna Bullard of Las Cruces, NM; Ashley Pryor and husband Braden Pryor, and Saylor Pryor of Carlsbad NM; and a great-nephew, James Bullard of Las Cruces, NM. Preceding Mary in death are her husband, Leon Chester; sister, Kay Howsley; and parents Lucile and Cline Morris.


Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 11th from 10am-8pm at Ratliff Funeral Homes. Funeral/Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at 10 am at the Presbyterian Church, officiated by Dennis Haralson.
