Loretta Faye Houck

Loretta Faye Houck, 89, of Denver City, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in Denver City.

Visitation will be held at Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Denver City on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Denver City.

Loretta was born on September 13, 1936, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Iva Smithton Phifer and Pauline Lucille Mauldin. She dedicated more than 20 years of service to the Yoakum County Sheriff’s Department, where she worked as a dispatcher. Through her years of service, she became a trusted and valued member of her community. She was an avid reader, often reading a book a day. She also created the most special gifts with her cross-stitch work, each piece crafted with care and always perfected by her attention to detail.

She is survived by her sons, Ty Eric Houck and Von Michael Houck and wife, Shellie; her daughters, Karon Renee Keller and Lori Danice Pruitt and husband, Mike; her brother, Kirby Mauldin; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, Christopher, Amber, Tanner, Tyler, Seth, Mallori, and Clare; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Loretta will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her years of public service, and the lasting impact she made on those who knew and loved her.
