Lometta Warlick

January 19, 1921 — July 12, 2024

Lometta Francis Willet Warlick passed away peacefully Friday morning, July 12, 2024, at the age of 103.

Born on January 19, 1921, John and Rosa Willet, Lometta grew up on a farm two miles from Eustace, Texas with her siblings. She graduated from Eustace High School in 1938, worked hard during harvest time on the farm, and made food for any passerby who needed it.

Lometta was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Miles R. Warlick, son Mickey Warlick, and grandson, Mike Warlick.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Jack T. Warlick (Nancy Warlick) of Ruidoso, NM; two granddaughters, Terri (Kyle) Medlock, of Tyler, Texas and Marnie Clouatre (Michael), Gilbert, Arizona; Shirley Kidd, daughter in love, of Seminole, Texas; 6 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren; and her last surviving sibling, Una Claunch.

Lometta had many passions. She loved to cook, take long walks, plant flowers, read, and maintain relationships by phone. During WWII, she worked on airplanes in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1945, she married the love of her life, Miles R. Warlick in Lawton, Oklahoma, and became a devoted homemaker and mother to Mickey and Jack. She also assisted Miles in their ownership of several restaurants, including the Raymond Restaurant on Hobbs Highway. Later, she was employed at a flower shop and worked as a clerk at Gainey’s Grocery.

After Miles passed away on September 17, 1977, she fully relied on the Lord while living by herself for over 47 years. In her final years she was well cared for by faithful neighbors, friends, members of the First Baptist Church, and her loving family.

Lometta had many things that made her special. The warmth on her eyes when she smiled, the love that she continually gave to her family and friends, her strength and resilience during difficult times, her endless words of encouragement, her determination to love life and its many blessings, and her devout faith in God as she prayed daily for friends and each of her family members by name. She leaves behind a legacy of beautiful, treasured memories, and immeasurable love with those who were blessed enough to have had her in their lives. Her thoughtful and faithful prayers will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved her.

Thankfully, Lometta has a new heavenly body free from pain. She desired to share with others about the grace of God provided by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. All who trust in Jesus have free access to God based solely on what He alone accomplished on the cross, and not their own self-effort or goodness. She would want all to draw close to God without fear of condemnation, and through faith alone, receive His rich grace and mercy.
