Funeral services for Lee Mack Kidd, 89, will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the J.W. Jones Performing Arts Center, in Denver City, Texas at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ratliff Funeral Home.
Lee passed away at home on Friday, July 10, 2026, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born on July 25, 1936, to Willard and Gene Kidd in Odessa, Texas. His family moved to Denver City in the early 1940's. He married Edith Williams on Friday, May 13, 1955, in Denver City. To this union they had 4 daughters.
He operated W.L. Kidd Oilfield Service, with his father Willard Lee starting in 1951. Lee and John Thomas took over the company in April 1971 when his father retired. This business expanded to other endeavors. Lee retired in 2013 but continued pursuing his passions.
Lee was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Denver City Masonic Lodge #1278. He was a director of the Texas Rangers Association Foundation and numerous other organizations.
Lee is survived by his wife Edith, and their four daughters: Margaret Kidd Robertson of Oklahoma City, OK, Genie Kidd of Dallas, TX, Suzie Parker of Denver City, TX and Katie Kidd Wheeler of Dallas, TX., sister Geraldine Henderson of Australia, and the son Lee never had, Jose "Joe" Ayala. They have five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters: Hannah Tipps of Lubbock, Sharon Daniels of Lubbock, and Sally Scott and Troy of Denver City.
In lieu of flowers memorials to be made to YCH Foundation or YCH Pink Ladies Auxiliary.
