Lanora Whitfield, age 93, of Seminole passed away surrounded by family on Monday, September 23, 2024. Lanora was born on August 14, 1931, to Hugh D. Donaghe and Essie Lee Donaghe in Tokio, Texas. She was a graduate of Seagraves High School in Seagraves, Texas. She was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Seminole. Lanora was a bookkeeper for Seminole Ready Mix for over 30 years.
Lanora married the love of her life, Farrell Dean Whitfield, on June 15, 1950, in Seagraves. Dean preceded her in death on March 18, 2019. She and Dean are survived by two children, a daughter LaDeana Box and her husband Richard and a son Darrell Whitfield and his wife Karen. Lanora had four granddaughters, Gwen McCown, Kayla Minchew, Lacey Murga and Kagan Box along with 3 great grandchildren, Colton Minchew, Abel Murga and Briley Minchew, all of whom she loved dearly. Lanora was also preceded in death by two sisters.
A celebration of Lanora’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2024, at First Assembly of God in Seminole, Texas under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home, Seminole, Texas, Services will be officiated by Rev. Joe Stewart and assisted by Rev. Joe Lapusan. Family and friend’s visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ratliff funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.
The family would like to thank the staff of Seminole Memorial Hospital, Memorial Place of Assisted Living, Memorial Health Care Center along with Dr. Micheal Watson.
