Laneita Perkins Bingham
Laneita “MeMaw” Perkins Bingham, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Andrews, Texas, with the love of her life and devoted husband by her side.
Laneita was born on July 17, 1941, in Emory, Texas, to R.V. and Sybil Perkins. She attended school in Andrews, Texas, where she formed lifelong friendships and remained active in her class reunions throughout the years.
On Valentine's Day in 1959, Laneita married the love of her life, Bobby Bingham. Together they built a beautiful marriage that spanned 67 years, living lives defined by hard work, loyalty, and an unwavering commitment to their family. They raised their children with love and devotion, creating a home where family always came first.
While raising their two children in Seminole, Texas, Laneita worked as both a florist and a beautician, touching lives with her creativity and caring spirit. In 1981, the family moved to Midland, where she began a career with Adobe Oil & Gas before eventually retiring.
Laneita embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She never passed up the opportunity for a good game, whether it was Skip-Bo, Gin Rummy, Bingo, or any card or board game. She was fiercely competitive, loved to laugh, and made every gathering more fun simply by being there.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures, walking the mall, completing crossword puzzles, watching game shows and Law & Order, and listening to music. She was a devoted Elvis Presley fan and could always appreciate a great song. Some of her happiest moments were spent at the family cabin in Ruidoso, New Mexico, built by her husband and son, surrounded by those she loved most.
Above all else, Laneita treasured her family. Holidays and birthdays were never ordinary in her home. She delighted in making every celebration memorable for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them, and she was always on the other side of the camera or video, capturing memories instead of being in front of it. Her warmth, generosity, playful spirit, and unconditional love made everyone around her feel special.
She was preceded in death by her parents, RV and Sybil Perkins; her beloved daughter, Terri Kay Garrison; and her brother, Doyce Perkins.
Laneita is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Bobby Bingham; her son, Joe Rex Bingham and wife, Katherine; son-in-law, Gary Garrison, her grandchildren, Brandy Greenleaf and husband, Andy, Jill Snelson and husband, JTom, and Bryan Blasingame; great-grandchildren, Emery Madelyn, Connor, Alaska, and Bear; her sister, Sharon Walker and husband, David; her brother, Danny Perkins and wife, Kim; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
A funeral service celebrating Laneita's life will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the MS Doss Community Chapel in Seminole, Texas with JTom Snelson officiating. Interment in the Gaines County Cemetery, under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Homes Seminole.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews and Hospice of Andrews for the exceptional care, kindness, and comfort they provided during Laneita's final days.
Laneita's legacy is one of love, laughter, family, and joyful living. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
