Karen Holland Townsend

Karen Holland Townsend, 83, of Seagraves passed away October 25, 2025. Karen was born July 27, 1942, in Fort Worth and adopted by her parents, Buck and Sybil Holland of Dallas. They preceded her in death.

Karen graduated from Bryan Adams High in Dallas in 1960. She went on to TCU where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. This launched her 30-year career of teaching in the cities of Fort Worth and El Paso before moving to Seagraves where she taught 27 of those years. She was married to Max Townsend who served as Gaines County Judge for many years. Max preceded her in death.

Karen is survived by her two sons Chad Townsend of California and Brad Townsend of Seagraves, two stepdaughters, Tammy Vannaman and husband Tom of Midland, Cammy Pierce and husband Eddie of Breckenridge, three grandchildren Crystal, J.T. and wife Miranda, Kimberley and wife Molly, and four great-granddaughters Madeline, Maybree, Riley, and Bella.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday November 8, 2025, at Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves.
