Judy Upham Shibley

Judy Upham Shibley, 79, was born December 4, 1942 in Pampa, Texas to Lyman Maurice and Nancy Jean Upham. She passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 in Round Rock, Texas. Services will be under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.

Judy was a graduate of Seminole High School in 1961, in 1966 she graduated from Mc Murry College and received her Master’s Degree in Education from Texas Christian University in 1976. Judy married James “Jim” Shibley December 29, 1985 at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico. She loved working at Ghost Ranch for many years taken care of the gardens around the ranch until returning home to Seminole, Texas.  Judy was a beloved retired teacher, she had taught in Ft. Worth ISD, Weatherford ISD, Weatherford College, Rabyor Schools, Ft. Walters Army Base and Seminole ISD.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents Lyman Maurice and Nancy Jean Upham, a brother Lyman Maurice “Reece” Upham, Jr. and her husband James “Jim’ Shibley.

Judy is survived by two sons, James Timothy Guthrie and wife Eden of Hutto, Texas, Michael Taw Guthrie of Rockwall, Texas; a sister, Nancy Barnes of Midland, Texas; two brothers, Charles Wayne Upham of Lubbock, Texas and Larry Upham of Forney, Texas; eight grandchildren Kyrie, Rhett, Asia, John Michael, Emily, Kate, Hudson and Logan; two nieces and two nephews.
