Jose J Franco

February 20, 1942 — July 4, 2023

Jose Jesus Franco was born on January 28, 1942, to my grandparents, Jesus Jose and Maria Franco. He spent his childhood in San Sostenes, Ojinaga, and El Ancon, Chihuahua, Mexico. He did not have the priveledge to receive an education, so at an early age he began to work to help support his family. This work ethic that was instilled in my father by his father, was passed down to my siblings and me. An inheritance that I am eternally grateful for and am passing down to my children as well. In his teenage years, he met my mother, Amalia. They fell in love and became one in the year of 1966. To make a better life for his young bride and his future family, my father migrated to the United States. Hungry for a better life, and passionate about his family, my father moved around in search of the perfect place to call home. God called him to Denver City, Texas where he would settle and raise his family of 5. In order of oldest to youngest, Noe, Roy, Diana, Jose Jr, and myself, Steve. Many of you see my siblings and I and can see what my father has taught us. Something that I am proud of and will pass down to my children. He not only left a mark on myself and my siblings, but also in you. My father’s love, compassion, generosity, and love for God is what I see in all of you here today. This is how I know that my father’s legacy will never fade. The things that he taught all of us will be shared by many and his story will continue to be told. My father lived a great life here on Earth, but the next chapter of his life is even more joyous. He is once again reunited with the love of his life. I wish I could have seen my mother emabrace him as he walked through the gates of Heaven. It gives me great joy to know that they are together once again. Laughing and dancing together. Looking down at us and smiling, knowing that eventhough we no longer have them here physically, their memory will forever be with us.

In closing, my father made a lasting impact on many lives. I am honored that God chose this man to be my father. God blessed each and every one that met my father with having him be a part of our lives. I am grateful to be a part of his story. All of us saw a man who was willing to sacrifice what little he had and extend that helping hand. If we’re honest, something that most of us find hard to do. All of us saw a man that protected and provided for his family. All of us saw a man that loved God with all his heart and wasn’t ashamed to admit it. All of us saw a man, that we will never forget. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each and every one of you for coming here today and supporting the Franco family during this time of mourning. May God be with each and every one of you.
