Seminole……Funeral Services for John Wayne Hall 89, will be held
at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, May 16, 2024, at South Seminole Baptist Church in Seminole, under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home, Seminole, Texas, officiated by Rev. Tony Pitcox.
Family and Friends visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.
John Wayne Hall, 89, passed peacefully at his home in Seminole, Texas on May 12th, 2024, after a 10-month hard fought battle. John was born on January 19, 1935, in Pettit, Texas.
John is preceded in death by his parents John Bunyon and Ethel Ivey Hall and 9 brothers and sisters Monroe Hall, Golda Whittenburg, Ernest Hall, Herman Hall, Dorthy Lee Wilson, Truitt Hall, Milton Hall, A.J. Hall and Leroy Hall, his son Gy Hall, stepson Jerry Pack, and grandson Kade Hall.
John was a gifted athlete in six-man high school football scoring over 150 points leading the State of Texas leading him to receive a full ride scholarship to West Texas State College in Canyon where he received a degree in education. John then went on to teach and coach boys and girls high school sports. John then joined the USDA in the ASCS office which would take him to Morton, Phoenix, and eventually landing in Seminole where he would retire after 29 years and become a farmer to 2,300 acres that he farmed until 2023.
John is survived by his wife of 42 years Wanda Lou Hall, a daughter Vickie Pinkston of Lubbock, son Ty Hall of Spring Branch, stepdaughters Misty Pack of Lubbock and Kristie Boone of Seminole, six grandchildren, Keilah Hall, Landon Hall, Courtney Cunningham, Makala Nelson and Shady Hall, seven step-grandchildren, Ryder Mata, Chantz Pack, Rowdy Pack, Tiffany Parker, Cody Williams, Blake Boone and Page Reid and many great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Texas Boys Ranch.
