Joan Grace (Hoffman) Dell passed to her heavenly home on November 4, 2023, in her home. She was born in Albion, Indiana on December 26, 1936, to Robert and Eloise Hoffman. After spending several years as a full-time mom, Joan entered the workforce, climbing the corporate ladder everywhere she went. She worked in Ft. Wayne, IN for a trucking company, Stamford, CT with a law firm, and Los Colinas, TX with GTE/Verizon.
Joan was very active in every church she belonged to from chairing committees, to teaching Sunday School, to baking desserts for the youth lunches in Seminole. She loved getting to know the students, who all called her, “Grandma.”
She was a gifted seamstress, gardener, and baker, passing these passions on to her children. She was a voracious reader in her later years, many times reading a book a day.
On September 30, 1956, Joan married the love of her life, John Dell who preceded her in death in 2016. Together they raised four loving and successful daughters: Rebecca Garrett, JoElla (Jerry) Hauselman, Jenny (Eric) Hindman, and Chris (Mickey) Reed.
Joan is survived by all four daughters, nine grandchildren: Ron and John Garrett, Sam (Kaleigh), Scott, and Zoe Smyth, Arin and Alex (Victoria) Hindman, and Jacob and Adam Reed, two great grandchildren, one sister and one brother.
A memorial service was held on November 8 at Wesleyan Grace Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Association or the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
