Keith Addison, 82, returned home on November 1, 2024, after a day filled with one last great round of golf—the kind that makes you feel young again. Keith was born on August 3, 1942, to Milton and Odessa Addison in Dawson County. He was a farmer with a heart as big as West Texas and a handshake you could trust. Keith married his high school sweetheart, Carol Wood, in 1962. They built a life filled with love, laughter, and a whole lot of hard work. Keith was a man who loved his land as much as he loved his family. Folks often said he could out-farm anyone around and was never happier than when he was looking out over his own cotton fields. Even after seeing some mighty pretty places, he always said his favorite view was right there on his own farm in Seagraves. A co-owner of the 5 Points Cotton Gin, Keith could often be found in the off season with his coffee cup in hand, shooting the breeze and playing 42 with his buddies. He had a wit as sharp as a tack, and he never turned down a good story or a good laugh. Keith is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Addison of Seagraves; son, Lynn Addison (Leca) of Seagraves; daughter, Lezlee Harlan (George) of Slaton; grandchildren Blake Martinez (Michael) of Seminole; Brooke Baron (Chase) of Loop; Jack Harlan of Pennsylvania; Wyatt Harlan of Iowa; great-grandchildren Kooper and Bennett Martinez and Noah Baron; and sister, Sally Rucker (Terry) of Lubbock all of whom will carry on the legacy of his big heart, his hard work, and his loyalty. He’s joining his parents; brothers, Phil and Chriss; and granddaughter, Caroline Harlan. We know he’s in heaven, likely finding his own patch of cotton to tend. A visitation will be held on November 5, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Ratliff’s Funeral Home in Seagraves and a celebration of Keith’s life will be held on November 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Seagraves followed by burial at Terry County Cemetery. Folks are welcome to come by, swap stories, and raise a cup of coffee (or two) to a man who lived life his way—with love, laughter, and a whole lot of heart. Loving husband, father, and a farmer of farmers, he will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Seagraves or Meals on Wheels of Seagraves.
