Geraldine (Gerry) Wheeler Hunt of Seminole TX, peacefully went to be with her savior December 27, 2025, one day after celebrating her 100th birthday with her family. She was born December 26, 1925, in the family home in Grayson County Texas to G.W. Wheeler and Myrtle Talley Wheeler. After graduation from Collinsville High School, she attended North Texas University in Denton, Texas earning a Bachelor’s degree in Foods and Nutrition. Later she earned a Masters Degree in Education from Texas Tech University. She was a dedicated teacher devoting 38 years to her students shaping their minds and hearts in Collinsville, Post and Seminole schools. Her commitment for education went beyond the classroom as she tirelessly strived to create a supportive environment for her students. She was a member of West Side Church of Christ and always willing to assist when needed. Her love for travel took her all over the United States creating cherished memories. Many trips included countless hours in county courthouses researching genealogy records, tracing her roots back to England. She wrote a book sharing the history of her parents and her family life growing up. Tracing the family ancestry back to the American Revolutionary War, her research documented patriots not previously listed on the Daughters of American Revolution data base. Additional hobbies included making quilts for all her family members, reading, playing cards, scrabble and dominoes with friends. She was an avid major league baseball and collegiate basketball fan. She especially loved attending spring training games in Phoenix with her son. 

Geraldine married Robert Hunt, Sept. 6, 1947. In 1953 they moved to Seminole. She is survived by her three children: Wayne Hunt (Janet) of Phoenix AZ, Sally Davis (James) of Seminole, Nancy (Wayne) Marshall of Lockhart, TX, grandchildren: Brooke Hanson, Wade Hanson, Krista Klause (Randy), Jacee Rameriz (Steven), Luke Condit (Christy), Ace Davis, Riley Davis (Kayla) and 8 loving great grandchildren. 

A memorial service is pending for early 2026. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to Eastern European Missions (EEM) P.O. Box 55245, Hurst TX 76054 or to Friends of Gaines County Museum, Seminole, TX.

 The family wishes to thank the staff of the Memorial Health Care Center in Seminole for all the kindness, love and care they showed Geraldine during her time there.
