Gay Miller McKee

Gay McKee, age 91, died peacefully in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Gay was born in 1934 in O’Donnell, Texas, to T.E. (Doad) and Evelyn Miller. She attended Seminole High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Sam McKee. Gay and Sam were married on April 18, 1954. Gay attended nursing school in Lubbock and practiced nursing for many years also in Lubbock.

Gay was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jim Miller, her husband, Sam and her oldest son, Bo McKee.

Gay was a wonderful mother to Bo, Terry and Todd. She is survived by a daughter, Terry Aguilar and husband, Mike; Todd McKee and wife, Laurie; a brother Gary Miller; seven grandchildren; Chad Harney, Leslie Harney, Taylor Harney, Nicole Yosten, Stephanie McKee, Matthew McKee and Connor McKee; six great-grandchildren and a great, great granddaughter.

Services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Milwaukee Avenue Church of Christ, Lubbock, Texas, where Gay was a longtime member. Her burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery in Seminole, Texas under the care of Ratliff Funeral Home.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Lubbock for their help and support during a difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Lubbock Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Milwaukee Avenue Church of Christ or LakeRidge Methodist CDO Preschool & Kindergarten (LakeRidge LittleRidge).
