Ernest Franklin Sellers

Ernest Franklin Sellers, 91, formerly of Seagraves, Texas went home to his Lord on Sunday February 19, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family. Ernest was born on July 23, 1931, to Theodore and Lillian Sellers in Kent County.

On August 3, 1951, he married Gladys Darlene Thornton in Seagraves, Texas. They shared 45 years of marriage together, prior to her death in December of 1996. He has been married to Ruby Sellers since 1997. Ernest was a hard-working Christian man, loving father, and grandfather (PaPa). Throughout his many years working, he held jobs with CocaCola, O and A Film Line, and Yoakum County, but his favorite job of all was working on his farm. He loved his garden, being outdoors, and his most cherished hobby was planting flowers and caring for them.

He is survived by his children Leon and Mary Sellers, of Wolfforth, Texas, Gayland Sellers and Sharon of Rosenburg, Texas, and Doug and Lori Sellers of Lubbock, Texas. He is survived by his sister Pat and husband Gene Benningfield of Seagraves, Texas and Grace Kirkpatrick of Austin, Texas. He leaves behind a legacy of 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Gladys “Darlene”, parents Theodore and Lillian, and siblings Joe Sellers, Jesse Sellers, and Maddie Shuffield.

Visitation will be held at Ratliff Funeral Home in Brownfield, Texas on Tuesday February 21, 2023, from 6-8pm. Graveside services for Ernest will be at 10am Wednesday February 22, 2023, at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery in Seminole, Texas.
