Duane passed away November 8, 2025, in Andrews, Texas.
Duane was born August 15, 1934, in Seagraves, Texas to Elbert T. and Mary Cornett.
Duane served in the Korean War with his twin brother, Thane. He was very proud to serve his country. Duane married Alice in April of 1963, and she passed April 2011. Duane married June Dunn, April 2012 and he inherited a big family when he married June. He was an accomplished Water Well Witcher. Duane told everyone that God gifted him with the ability to Witch for water for the many farmers in the surrounding counties. One of the joys of his life was for he and June to go and find the water for the farmers. One of the reasons he enjoyed finding water for farmers was because he too had farmed in Gaines County. He also was a Driller for Warton Drilling Company; he took a lot of pride in working on the drilling rigs. Duane was a member of First Baptist Church in Seagraves, Texas
Duane had the biggest heart around. He was such a giver and everyone knew this about him. If his neighbors needed something, they knew Duane would help anyway he could. He loved teaching his nephews how to work, and explaining how things worked to his nieces. He had the best outlook on life. He always had a smile and a twinkle in his eyes. He spoiled June and not very often did he tell her no.
