David Meredith Turnbough

Graveside Services for David Meredith Turnbough, 91, of Denver City, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 11, 2022 in the Denver City Memorial Park, with Brother Skip Rodgers officiating, under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City, Texas.

David passed away on November 9, 2022 in Lubbock, Texas.

David was born in Quanah, Texas on May 3. 1931 to William and Mary Ella Turnbough. He went to school and graduated from the Meadow High School. David married LaNelle Crownover on June 1949, then several years later he married Viola Campion on September 6, 1984 in Denver City, Texas. David was a self-employed farmer since 1956 till he retired in 1993 farming in Meadow, Seagraves, and Denver City. He was a member of the Denver City Church of Christ and served as an Elder of the Church, the Yoakum County Water District, and in the later years a member of the Sunset Church of Christ of Lubbock, Texas. David was a good dad and an excellent father, he will be greatly missed by all those who loved him and knew him.

David was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife LaNelle Crownover Turnbough on June 12, 1984; a daughter Jan King on February 17, 2021, his former wife Viola Champion Turnbough on November 3, 2022.

David is survived by his son Gary Turnbough and his wife Judy of Shallowater; two daughters Judy Jones of Portland, Oregon, Jenny Curtis and her husband Rodney of Olney; a son-in-law William King and his wife Nancy of Gaymon, Oklahoma; two step sons David Sumners and his wife Shirley of Seagraves, Roy Dale Sumners and his wife Sandy of Lubbock; a step daughter Mary Sumners Sanders and her husband Mike of Clarksdale, Mississippi; eighteen grandchildren; along with many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
