Dalton Ray Taylor was many things to many people. A son, a brother, an uncle, a father, a Ginganny, and a great Ginganny. But to all those and more, he was a friend. Dalton passed away in his home early in the morning on October 7, 2023.
Dalton Ray Taylor was born on November 5, 1949, to Joy and Doyle Taylor. He married his high school sweet heart Deanie Cheryl Welcher on December 16, 1969, in Seagraves, Texas. Deanie and Dalton had two children: Daena and Derek. He served in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman Second Class in Vietnam, and later graduated from Texas Tech University with his agricultural engineering degree.
Dalton was a hardworking man all his life. He set the example of quiet strength, and tender affection. It is hard to summarize a man who was is giant in the hearts and minds of those who loved him. He is remembered for being the most handsomest, for singing along to the songs he loved, for being the kind of smart-aleck that made everyone laugh, but most of all he is remembered for how well he loved. He is loved profoundly by many, the natural response to that love he generously gave.
If it is true that to love another person is to see the face of God, then through years of long acquaintance he must have immediately recognized the Father when he was welcomed home.
We miss you Ganny.
