Cora Edith Bean

Cora Edith (Caldwell) Bean was born on April 13, 1936, to the late Ellen and Conner Caldwell in Wayne, Oklahoma, the youngest of their 7 children. She passed away from life to her eternal rest on the night of December 4, 2024, in Ballinger, Texas. She graduated high school in Norman, Oklahoma and attended both Oklahoma University and South Plains College. She met her husband, Jerry Wylie Bean, and they married on January 6, 1960. Together they raised three children, who are surviving; David Bean and his wife, Cynthia, of Seagraves, Texas; Michael Bean and his wife, Pam, of Albany, Texas; Terry Bean and his wife, Shelly, of Ballinger, Texas.
Edith was a dedicated homemaker and mother and was a support and business partner to Jerry throughout their married life. She loved to laugh and enjoyed it even more when she could make others laugh. Edith spent many years working in the church serving in several capacities as Sunday school teacher, director, Vacation Bible School teacher and director. She taught hundreds of children how to memorize the New Testament of the Bible through song. She was also an entrepreneur with her burn ointment, “His Plan” that she developed in 1996.
She is survived in life by her sons, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Shawn Michael Bean, and all her brothers and sisters.
Viewing will be on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 9:00am till 11:30am at Ratliff Funeral Home in Brownfield, Texas. Services will be on the same day at 2:00pm at Calvary Baptist Church in Brownfield, Texas.
