Clifton Royce Harvey

Clifton Royce Harvey, 87, passed away on July 31, 2026. He was born on March 7, 1939, in Terry County, Texas, to E.C. and Dora Harvey.

Royce proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. While serving, his dad was in a tractor accident, and he was honorably discharged to return home and help care for the family farm. His passion for farming grew from there as he leased land to farm on his own. Royce’s dedication to farming grew his acreage and he hired his “wrecking crew” over the years to help out.

Royce was Gaines County Outstanding Conservation Farmer in 1976. He served on the Seagraves Co-op Gin board until its dissolution. Royce was also a member of the American Agriculture Movement where he had an active involvement.

Royce never met a stranger and would help anyone the best he could. He demonstrated the values of hard work and responsibility.

He was preceded in death by his parents, E.C. and Dora Harvey; his sister, Nelda Kay Wren; and brother-in-law, Worth Wren.

Royce is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Vaughn and husband, Derek; his son, Kip Harvey and wife, Kim; his brother, Jimmy Harvey and wife, Pat; his sister, Sue Crump; his grandchildren, Dericka Vaughn, Jordan Harvey, and Peyton Harvey; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends who will cherish his memory.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves, Texas.

Royce will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, the hard work of his farming and the quiet strength and integrity with which he lived his life. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
