Barbara Ortega

Barbara Macias Ortega, 81, of Denver City, Texas, passed away on July 5, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. The visit to Barbara Ortega will take place on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and the rosary will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 in the chapel of the Ratliff funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at St. Williams Catholic Church, officiated by Deacon Pedro Juarez.

Barbara was born on December 4, 1944, in Juventino Rosas, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Luis Macias and Maria Ariza. She was married to Santos Ortega for 61 years before his death.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Cecilia Macías.

Who remains to treasure her memory is her husband, Santos Ortega; his daughter, Juana Ortega Ariza; his grandchildren, Gilberto Ariza, Cecilia Ariza and Adán Ariza; her sisters, Remedios Macías, Macimina Macías, Carmen Macías, Felipa Macías and Antonia Macías.
