Arl Byrd Weir

Arl Byrd “Bea” Weir, 90, of Denver City, Texas, passed away on June 25, 2025. She was born on October 22, 1934, in Gaines County to Maugie and Ona Turner.


Bea married James Weir on January 2, 1953, in Eunice, New Mexico. She owned Bea’s Flowers in the 1960s–70s and later worked at West Texas National Bank. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was known for her faith, warmth, and generosity.


She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her husband, James; son, Jim Weir; wife DeAnn; grandchildren, Jamie Weir, Amanda Villegas, Crystal Larkin, and Kevin Mathews; and six great-grandchildren.


Visitation will be held Friday, June 27, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will take place Saturday, June 28, at 10:00 a.m. at Denver City Methodist Church, followed by burial at Denver City Memorial Park.
