Anita Jean Patterson

Anita Jean Patterson, 81, passed away on August 30, 2026, in Arlington, Texas. She was born on July 16, 1945, in Hillsboro, Texas, to James Williams and Juanita Curry.

Anita worked for the Texas Department of Transportation in Plains, Texas, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Patterson, who passed away in 2020; her brother, James H. Williams; and her daughter-in-law, Tonya Patton.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Kevin Patton and wife Debra, and Shannon Patton; her daughter, Leslie Holt and husband Dean; her bonus daughter, Shelly Welcher; seven grandchildren, Devin Patton, Makenzie Patton, Chris Welcher, Mason Patton, Krista Welcher, Ashton Holt, and Audree Holt; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 5:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ratliff Funeral Homes Chapel in Denver City.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Plains, with Rev. Patrick Hamilton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Troy Ratliff of Ratliff Funeral Homes.
