Funeral services for Alice Jewel Lehnert, 96, of Denver City, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Ratliff Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Streun officiating and Erik Hanna assisting. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. in the Ratliff Funeral Home chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home in Denver City.
Alice passed away on October 25, 2024, in Denver City, Texas.
Alice was born on September 24, 1928, in Gonzales, Texas, to Dewey W. Smith and Mary Hahn. On February 28, 1948, Alice married the love of her life, Edwin E. Lehnert. Together they formed a beautiful life and family. Before moving to Denver City, Texas in 1957, Alice had been working at a cotton gin in Gonzales, Texas. She worked in Marjories Gift Shop and did sewing for the public for many years, and she loved making quilts.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed Lehnert; her son, Larry Gene Lehnert; granddaughter, Alison Robinson; a great granddaughter, Katherine Hanna; five brothers and one sister.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sandra Kay Hanna and husband, Rick, Sharon Gay Ashburn and husband, Brian, Judy Carol Ply, and Teresa Gail Arabie; sister, Marie Pearce; brother, Raymond Lee Smith; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and one on the way.
Family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
